Working to Convince Voters that Representation Matters

Representation matters. This has been repeated many, many times. And yet, many voters don't believe that their government will listen. When constituents feel that their voices are not heard, they become disengaged. Carin understands this fundamental truth and aims to create a more inclusive political environment. By prioritizing community engagement, Carin seeks to ensure that voices are valued and considered in the decision-making process.

Transparency: since engagement is key to effective representation, Carin advocates for online forums where citizens can express their concerns and directly ask questions. She is committed to finding innovative ways to connect with constituents and gather their input,

Restoring Democratic Norms: under the current administration, the Constitution has been tested beyond expectation with devastating consequences. Carin will fight to codify 'norms and traditions' that used to govern a presidential conduct into law, as a means to reverse the Supreme's Court the-president-is-above-the-law decision. And, holding the enablers accountable for their actions and relinquishing their role as a check on presidential powers,

Environmental Protection: addressing environmental issues is a priority for Carin. By promoting the safe building of AI data centers, Carin envisions a future where economic growth does not come at the expense of the planet.

Polarization and the Anger Economy

Polarization seems synonymous with Washington politics - it's been the strategy and not the bug for years. As a result, most citizens feel disconnected from their representatives, leading to continued distrust in government. This disconnect resulted in low voter turnout for years. More recently, typical abstainers - inspired by lies, misinformation, and conspiracy theories - became more engaged. Obviously, increased engagement and higher voter turnout is the objective. Unfortunately, this created a deep fissure within the country - beyond political discourse. The time is now for leaders to combat the polarization and work toward common solutions. Working together is essential.

Building a Stronger Community

To support Carin's vision, it is essential to focus on building a stronger community. This involves fostering connections among residents, local organizations, and businesses.

Smart & Sustainable Redevelopment

Local initiatives play a crucial role in community development. Carin supports programs that empower residents to take action on issues that matter to them. For example, creating tax incentives to encourage the repurposing and conversion of vacant business parks into affordable housing.

Social Media's Ability to Build & Destroy Community

In today's AI age, technology can be too powerful. Carin plans to leverage only select social media platforms. This approach will allow for engagement that is not hijacked by bots and non-constituent fake accounts. Debate around mutually agreed upon facts is healthy and will be encouraged.

Education

Education is a cornerstone of a thriving society. Carin advocates for increased funding for public schools, access to affordable higher education, and vocational training programs. By investing in education, Carin aims to equip future generations with the skills they need to succeed.

Affordable Healthcare

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right. Carin supports policies that expand healthcare coverage and reduce costs for families. If elected, restoring the Affordable Care Act (ACA) - also known as Obamacare - subsidies for the 21 million who recently lost this support.

Grassroots movements, such as No Kings, play a vital role in driving change. Carin recognizes the power of collective action and will wholeheartedly support local organizations that advocate for environmental protection, affordability, and protecting our democracy. This hope is that collaboration fosters a sense of community and encourages skeptical residents to get involved in causes for which they care.

Mobilizing Volunteers & Encouraging Participation

Volunteers are the backbone of grassroots movements. Carin plans to create opportunities for residents to volunteer their time and skills to support local initiatives.
